Life, I love you. I got sick at the greatest time ever, this way I missed three final exams, one lab exam and I have a presentation tomorrow which I’m not ready for. Everyone in school must be so stressed out right now, and I’m just sitting here with a slight fever, apathetically listening to “Caring is Creepy” by The Shins and enjoying my life.

God if I make it through this week it’s going to be really good.

Facing the tough reality that this summer I’m most likely going to be unemployed (for the most part at least) I have decided make realistic plans for the summer. So this summer I will dedicate to enjoying life. After all, sixteen is a great age and it’s still not that pressuring to be unemployed at this age and live off your parents’ allowance, so why not?
So for the most part my summer will consist of those slow groovy Bay Ridge days, listening to Jimi Hendrix, Bob Marley and UB40, drinking imported beer, hanging out with random girls. However, I have made a list of things I have to do this summer:
-Wake up early, go to the city and laugh at people on the train who have to go to their jobs.
-Eat lunch in Drive-Thru White Castle in Sunset Park on a rainy day under the little roof thinggy wearing my old ripped Vans.
-Call a pizza place and put them on hold.
-Bring a bunch of groceries to the counter of the store and leave.
-Play every single Beatles vinyl in Street Sounds.
-Draw greeting cards that say “I’ll paint your house if you’ll be my friend” and give them to girls in Bay Ridge.
-Spend a Friday night drinking Manischewitz.
-June 6 (6/6/06) is officially Old School British Heavy Metal and Polish beer day.
-Disappear for a week to Pennsylvania.
-Visit Poughkeepsie (spelled it right!), NY.
-Visit Europe (I pray every night).
-Show my patriotism on July 4th. Get the best seats for fireworks.
-Make fun of the emo kids near my school.
-Eat Sushi with Coke (-a-Cola).
-Go to indie shows.
-Go to the beach with girls.
-Spend days doing absolutely nothing.

Yeah, should be fun.

Peace

I’m sick again, which once more gives me time to kill by writing here. Though my last entry has been about 97 years ago, I’ll once again try to sum up all the events that happened in my life in that period of time, and maybe even throw in some philosophical thought.
I guess I can start with the fact that I moved. Yes, since the beginning of April I’m residing at a new apartment. Well I can’t say much yet, except the fact that my room is damn big and I can see the stars at night :) I still have to put up my posters and all though.
Of course, the whole moving process was made so much easier by Verizon *cough* who decided “Hey, let us not connect the internet for Paul for about 38 days!” I love them.
So now my spring break was the loneliest week-and-four-days I’ve ever had in my life. Basically I just sat at home and listened to Elliott Smith the entire time. And of course, continuing the “God hates Paul” tradition, it rained again on Easter, which was the only time I actually got out during the break.
After that it got a little better. I hung out a bit more with people, so I guess you can say I fought off my loneliness for a while. I got my internet back, I got that gooey special feeling in my stomach when seeing this girl again, I went to Serina’s birthday party… Yeah my oh-so-exciting life.
So as of right now, other than the fact that I’m sick, I guess I’m alright. Though on one side, I’ll probably miss school on Monday, which will result in me missing a final exam in Global History and I have to make an entire demostrative speech on “How to Play Acoustic Guitar” by Wednesday/Thursday (and perfect playing New Slang by The Shins). On the other side, however, I finally did a major sysupgrade on my ArchLinux box (boy aren’t those things so romantic, knowing that with one wrong click you can destroy your entire operating system), which upgraded to Xorg7 and now it has those pretty fonts (Link). This morning I also got tickets to Bloc Party on July 29th at McCarren Park Pool in Williamsburgh :) Hopefully I also get tickets to see The New Pornographers. Sp yeah, the summer should be really good.
Peace
